Our Story

 
The story of Sardis began all the way back in the 1800’s. Settlers founded Sardis in 1882 with the hope of having a Baptist Church in the area that could be a light to the Smith Lake community. As with any church in existence that long, there have been ups and downs but today Sardis is a growing church for every generation. We are church committed to reaching our community and being willing to make the changes necessary to reach an ever changing culture with the love of Christ! From our exciting praise and worship music from some of today’s best Christian artists to relevant and practical teaching and preaching you will find Sardis to be a place of grace filled with people who love to serve and sacrifice so that we can be that shining light our founders had in mind in the very beginning!
